Meet Dr. Singh
“MOVEMENT CAN BE MORE THAN FITNESS.”
Dr. Harnoor Singh is a physical therapist and enthusiast in movement. He is looking to shed light on a research based/anatomical perspective in longevity and functional living. Dr. Singh has a background in teaching weightlifting, yoga, acrobatics, partnerdance, and more. Harnoor is based in Baltimore, MD and has traveled to teach workshops all over the country.
“I WANT TO WORK WITH YOUR CURRENT LEVEL.”
Dr. Singh is well versed in working with a variety of clients and patients. The very first experience between a client is centered around how we can create commonality in goals and gear our programming towards their personal blueprint. The focus is on long term development.
“EACH SESSION HAS VARIETY. VARIETY IS THE ELIXIR OF YOUTH.”
When working with Dr. Singh, you can expect a deep foundation on balance, strength, and mobility. We will hone in on how to develop robust tendons, ligaments, and joints to help create function towards your goals. While we will pursue specific topics, we will enjoy a depth of variety in the practice. You can expect some days to have a background that looks very similar to conventional weightlifting, with other sessions having small flows comparable to yoga, and certain days that will look completely different. This is due to emerging research on the importance of cross training for cognitive and physical training.
“THE ONLY WAY I LEARNED TO BE A GOOD TEACHER, IS BY FIRST BEING A GOOD STUDENT. TO HUMBLE MYSELF, TO HONE MY CRAFT. ”
Dr. Harnoor Singh is a teacher, but beyond this, a rigorous practitioner. He leads the forefront of his movement experience by continually experimenting, learning, and creating at all times. Harnoor is excited to share all his experiences in rehabilitation, injury prevention, and alignment in your movement practice.
What is longevity?
I define longevity as your functional lifespan. At what age are you willing to use a walker? At what age are you willing to stop being able to use stairs? For me, I want to guide you on strength, mobility and balance goals that will show up instantly in your day to day life. I want you to be able to walk, run, jump, and move with full confidence in your day to day.
Most people train without the guidance of how to properly prepare tendons, ligaments, nervous system to create a functional body for the years to come. The programs I build are based off of your blueprint. It’s more than personal training, it is a guided approach to set yourself up to increase balance and strength to maintain your functional longevity.
What is Fulfillment?
Although, we are focused on your functional longevity, this would mean nothing without the aspects of fulfillment. Strength, mobility, and balance can have a huge impact on your ability to do the things you love, whether it's playing with grandkids, going on hikes, or simply feeling confident and comfortable in your own body.
Strength exercises are a great way to build and maintain muscle mass, which can help you stay at a healthy weight and reduce the risk of falls. Balance exercises, like yoga or dancing, can improve your coordination and reduce the risk of injuries from losing your footing. Mobility exercises, such as stretching or gentle movement, can help you stay limber and avoid stiffness, which can make it harder to move around.
By incorporating these types of activities into your routine, you'll be able to take part in activities that let you feel fulfilled. So whether you're a grandparent, an adventure-seeker, or just someone who wants to feel more comfortable in your own skin, focusing on strength, balance, and mobility can help you achieve your goals and live your best life!
